Who we are
We are Kurt and Erin Chick, a first-generation family farm in East Central Alberta. Our children Hunter and Brexley are actively involved in caring for our animals and our commitment to raising healthy, happy animals. Our journey began in the early 2010s alongside Kurt's dad, David, with a small flock of chickens and a couple of sheep.
Today, our farm thrives with over 35 sheep, over 100 chickens raised each year and a few cows. We cherish the arrival of spring, a time of renewal and new life on our farm.
We are committed to raising animals with care, ensuring their well-being throughout their lives. We are passionate about producing high-quality meat and believe in knowing exactly how our food is raised.
We believe in the importance of sustainable farming practices, including careful pasture management. We practice rotational grazing for all our livestock, allowing our pastures to regenerate naturally. We are excited to expand our chicken flock in 2025 by introducing pasture-raised poultry to our farm on a large scale. This will not only provide our chickens with the best possible environment but also further enhance our pasture ecosystem, benefiting our entire flock of animals.
We are deeply grateful to Jenna and Brett Hauck of Lazy T Farms for their invaluable support and guidance as we embark on this new chapter in our farming journey.
We look forward to sharing our delicious, pasture-raised chicken with you and your family.

Pasture-raised poultry meat is higher in omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E than conventionally raised poultry meat. This is because pasture-raised poultry are able to eat a more natural diet that includes grass and bugs.
